John Weyenberg

name I am a husband and father. My wife and I have one son. We hoped for more and tried for years, but we were unable to have more. And we are so blessed to have our son! Parenting has been our greatest and most rewarding adventure. Besides being a parent, I have worked with children for over thirty years. It has been my profession. I have a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Human Behavior. I have been a coach and a teacher. I am a certified Montessori instructor with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education. I have worked as an elementary school Guidance Counselor. I have worked almost exclusively for the past 22 years with at-risk youth and their families in detention facilities and in residential facilities. I have authored and established residential programs for teens with drug addictions and for young sexual offenders. I have seen what works and what doesn’t when it comes to parenting.
